A gigantic congratulations to Katie and Sam on such a stunning, joyous wedding day!! Not even a bit of rain could stop you two from and your friends and family from having the time of your lives on your wedding day at Riverview Country Club. Sam and Katie met their junior year of high school. Their best friends were dating at the time, so they went on a double date together at the bowling alley, and as you can tell from this blog post, they really hit it off. Sam proposed after a 15 hour drive to Florida for their first vacation alone together at Universal Studios. He brought Katie around looking for the perfect place to take a picture to send to their parents, and then handed his phone off to a stranger to take the picture. Little did Katie know, he was actually telling the cell phone stranger how to record video on his phone, and when they went to pose for the picture Sam got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him! They love going on adventures together, especially finding new places to hike with their dog, Sparky. They were so excited to spend their wedding day together with their family and closest friends dancing and laughing the night away!
They started off their day at Hampton Inn Easton where they both got ready with their wedding party. You know that any day that starts off with dad in the bridal suite jacuzzi tub with a beach ball is going to be a good day. I love the succulents in Katie’s bouquet made by Distinctive Florals by Mary – they were such a unique touch to an already gorgeous bouquet! Katie’s great-grandma’s brooch was the perfect finishing detail. Greg’s brothers, best friend, and ring bearer all helped him get ready. Both little Mason and Sam have this modeling thing down! Katie’s best friends all helped her get ready – Katie you are such a radiant bride!! Everything from your dress to your hair and makeup to your infectious smile were absolute perfection. Sam’s reaction during their First Look on the boardwalk at Riverview was the best – they are seriously the cutest together. And their wedding party is so much fun! Ladies, you all knocked it out of the park with those red silk dresses. The ceremony went on as planned despite some drizzling – it didn’t phase these two one bit, they were just excited to be married! Katie hadn’t thought at our initial consult that her dad would be able to walk her down the whole aisle after leg surgery, but nothing was going to stop him from walking his little girl down the aisle on her wedding day. The rain subsided as the two walked towards the gazebo, and it turned into a truly beautiful ceremony officiated by Reverend Connie Foreback. At the end of the ceremony, Katie and Sam toasted to the start of their marriage using Mickey Mouse wine glasses that had been a gift to Katie’s parents during their own wedding. Everyone had so much fun dancing the rest of the night away with Celebrations DJ. One of my favorite moments was Sam’s running slide into the garter toss. These two couldn’t stop smiling at each other and holding each other through to the end of the reception – you could tell that they had been waiting for this day since junior year of high school!
